My latest work:
From below (December 2011)
I wanted to do a sort of action track, where some electronic sounds would be combined with a "Hollywood" sounding orchestra.
Kind of metal-clashing on some points, with hints of some hope for "victory in the end" for the good guys...
Music for Movies
Here you can find some of my work for movie, or work I would relate to a movie.
Music for Games
Professor Vladinsky's Arachnobot
Don't wake up the professor!:
Russian Robots 1941:
Music for the game "Professor Vladinsky's Arachnobot". You are a robot which has to escape from the crazy professor's lair before he demolishes you... You are an outdated model you know... But there is one little problem: The professor has fallen asleep on: you! "Don't wake up the professor!" is heard in game when you have almost woken up the professor because you bumped his head on some pipes a couple to many time. It was supposed to have a bit of a Russian Nationalistic Romantic feel to it, but had to be very intense and is supposed to get on your nerves (which it does, believe me....), yet maintaining a sort of cartoony feel to it. The second track is played during the credits and was used for the trailer.
Penguin pounce (October 2011)
I thought it was important to show my cuddly side on this website as well, so I decided to put this one on here. This is the music I did for an iPhone puzzle game. UR a cute 'n cuddly penguin and u haz to solve puzzles...
Available at the Appstore! Go get it, it's fun!
Charly Chameleon: Super thief in space (December 2011)
Music I did for a game called "Charly Chameleon: Super thief in space". You are Charly and have to steal a diamond from a heavily guarded building. This music plays during the game, right before a bomb goes off and the building explodes. After that the credits role. The tone of the game is very cartoony, with funny comic-book style cutscenes. I tried to put in some well known spy/thief film cliches, which I enjoyed doing very much (never did that before :)).
Fins of liberty (December 2011)
Action layer:
Zen layer:Music for a game I did called "Fins of liberty". You are a fish who is about to be turned into sushi, so start flapping and escape from the Japanese sushi chefs! This action layer is heard when you are out of the water and trying to flap your way through the restaurant... This also is a cartoony game, so the over-the-top Chinese/Japanese influences were almost impossible to avoid and very much fun to work with. The Zen layer plays when you are in a "safe" zone, so under water. The idea was to make a sort of "Zen"-ish sound, with a direct relation to what is going on in the original music, so it would be easy to make a fast cross-fade.
To war! (November 2011)
Intro music to a Wolfenstein ET modification called ETXreal.
Available in the near future!
Flying like a little birdy... (December 2011)This one was a lot of fun to do. This is made fo a game called "Crash Test Birdy!". It was developed for Kinect by "Team Dynamo". You play an eagle which flies over big city. You have to crash into objects to make them float up in the air, and make those objects collide as much as possible. I felt the game needed an old-fashioned, Disney-esque "flying" waltz soundtrack...
Gank! main theme (April 2011)
A theme I made for a small Hack 'n Slash game developed by some fellow students at the HKU. The game is very cartoony. You play an evil lord who just has a really bad day and decides to go down to the closest village and kill all the noobs that live there! *TREMBLE IN FEAR FOR THE DARK WOLF LORD AND HIS DEATHTRAPS OF DOOM!!!*
Realm One Online (December 2009)
Menu Music
Overworld themeBoss fight
Mainland's theme
The four tracks above are all off of the video-game "Realm One Online" or "ROO". It never got a full release, since the developer decided to start anew with a new game (on which I am working as well) called "Myriad Online". "ROO" is a MMO-RPG, in 2D. Unlike most of these games in 2D, this one had a side-view (platform-style). The music had to be adventurous and to some extend epic, but not over the top since this doesn't really fit the cartoony feel of the game. All of the tracks are loops, hence the abrupt ending of the track!
Shooter in the snow (2008)
I made this for a small shooter game which takes place on a snowy mountain. I don't actually know what happened to the game, but it was fun to make this track at the time, so here it is for your enjoyment! Also I like to post some older tracks to make a comparison with my newer material.
